“Neurobiology of resilience to stress-related mental dysfunction: from understanding mechanisms to promoting prevention”
The German Research Foundation (DFG) has established a new Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU), starting July 2016. The consortium of scientists from Mainz and Frankfurt, headed by Prof. Beat Lutz, Director of Deutsches Resilienz-Zentrum (DRZ) at University Medical Center Mainz, and co-headed by Prof.s Raffael Kalisch and Michèle Wessa (also DRZ), is funded with a total of around EUR 12 million for an initial period of four years. CRC 1193 is a collaboration of neuroscientists, psychologists, and clinicians working together to understand the phenomenon of stress resilience and to find new ways to better protect people from developing stress-related disorders.
